I am an internationally published graphic designer and photographer originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Having studied BFA in graphic design while at the Academy of Art University, all of my extra classes were based in the photography department. My first design job after university was with a small grocery company called Whole Foods Market where I learned how to work with and communicate with multiple teams to design and launch marketing promotions on a national and local level.
First leaving the country over ten years ago now, I first made my way south to the bottom of the California Baja peninsula. Achieving the certification as a recreational scuba diving instructor, I unknowingly also began my journey in leadership and coaching as well. Improving my Spanish, I was quickly able to start teaching scuba lessons in Spanish and also take on design projects in the language. Opportunities to work as a freelance artist began to come in with local businesses and government agencies and soon the biggest activities company in town, Cabo Adventures was calling me to work with them.
Next stop would be in southeast Asia along the Andaman Sea, a small island called Phuket. I was quickly able to pick up local work as a graphic designer and underwater photographer. Again as I began to pick up the local Thai language and network with more of the businesses on the island, more opportunities began to open up to me. Most specifically working with the Thai Tourism board and the Thai Immigration agency to help solve graphic design needs. My time here really taught me how to work with many different people and languages from all over the world.
